- B vitamins (B1, B3, B6, B12): Support cellular and nervous system function, promoting brain health.
- Potassium and Magnesium: Support normal muscle and heart function. Many older adults fall short on magnesium.
- Lutein and Lycopene: Carotenoid antioxidants. Lutein is found in the eye.
- Vitamin D and Calcium: Support bone health. The body makes and absorbs these less efficiently with age.
One daily with a meal containing healthy fat. Made for adults 50 and over.
Take with the same meal at the same time each day. Fat-soluble vitamins like D absorb better with a meal that contains fat.
- Taking Vitamin D With the Largest Meal Improves Absorption and Results in Higher Serum Levels of 25-Hydroxyvitamin D
Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, 2010. Taking the same vitamin D dose with the largest meal raised mean serum 25(OH)D from 30.5 to 47.2 ng/mL after 2 to 3 months, an average increase of 56.7%. Dose studied: Patients' existing vitamin D supplement, 1,000 to 50,000 IU daily, moved to the largest meal of the day. Note: A small observational study of 17 patients with no control group.

Senior's Core Multivitamin
FAQs
As you age, some nutrient needs change and your body absorbs certain nutrients less efficiently. For example, B12 absorption depends on stomach acid, which tends to decline with age. Senior's Core Multivitamin includes 25mcg of B12 (1,042% DV), along with B1, B3, and B6 for nervous system function, Vitamin D and calcium for bones, and the carotenoids lutein and lycopene.
Two reasons. Your skin makes less Vitamin D from sunlight as you age, and low Vitamin D affects bone strength, muscle function, and immune function. Each serving provides 12.5mcg (500 IU) of Vitamin D. Taking it with a meal that contains fat supports absorption.
B vitamins, particularly B1, B3, B6, and B12, support normal nervous system function, and B6 and B12 also help the body process homocysteine, an amino acid. Lutein and lycopene are carotenoid antioxidants, and lutein is found in the eye and brain. Vitamin D rounds out the formula.
Take one daily with a meal that includes some healthy fat, like olive oil, avocado, nuts, or eggs. Vitamins A, D, E, and K are fat-soluble, so they absorb better when fat is present. Take it with the same meal at the same time each day. Consistency matters, because the benefits of a multivitamin build over time.
