Carson Bolemon | The Ace Protocol

I was stuck at 83 mph. This is what changed.

From 8 to 14, my velo went up every year. Then it stopped. Everybody around me was working just as hard as I was, and I realized that to be different, I had to do something different. That's when I took the next step and got serious about perfecting my diet and supplement routine. This is what I did, and what I would hand to 15-year-old me.

Partner story

Why I partnered with The Collection

People ask me what the secret is. There isn't one. There is the work, and there is everything you do to back the work up. For a long time I only had half of that. When I finally started treating diet, sleep, and supplementation as seriously as my time on the mound, everything changed.

So I got picky. I have been around high-level coaches, trainers, and people who really know this stuff, and I learned to ask hard questions about what goes in my body. The Collection answered every one of them. Clean ingredients I can actually read. Honest about where it is made. And a team that would rather teach you than sell you. They care about the players who use their products, and they take real pride in helping people understand the why, so you can make the best decision for yourself. That is the kind of company I want my name next to.

You can't out-train what you aren't fueling. I learned that at 15. I would rather you learn it now.

The Résumé

Shop the Routine

Carson's Routine

Morning

Before I look at my phone: 24 to 32 ounces of water with Hydration Electrolytes and my Creatine stirred right in. Creatine works through consistency, not timing, so I put it where I'll never miss it. Start day, lift day, off day, travel day. Every single day.

With Breakfast

CurQLife and Elite Focus with a real breakfast. Eggs, oats, fruit, something with a little fat in it. Throwing a baseball hard is a violent thing to ask your body to do over and over, so I take care of my arm every day, not just when it hurts.* Then I'm locked in for film, bullpen work, and everything else the day throws at me.

30 Minutes Before I Lift

Stim-Free Pre-Workout and Muscle Builder Complex. I stay away from stimulant pre-workouts, and here's why. I lift early and pitch late. Caffeine in the afternoon can still be in your system at midnight, and sleep is where my recovery happens. I don't want to feel wired, I don't want a crash in the sixth inning, and I never want to need a buzz to get after it. Stim-free means I can take it any time of day, start days included, and still sleep like I'm supposed to.

During the Session

Recovery Aminos in my water bottle. Long lifts, long bullpens, long days at the field. Sipping aminos through it keeps me from hitting empty at the end and helps me bounce back for tomorrow.*

Post Workout

Pure ISO Whey Protein as soon as I'm done, then a real meal within the hour. This was the biggest thing I was getting wrong at 15. I was training like a grown man and eating like a kid who forgot lunch.

Night

Nine hours is the goal. The phone goes on the other side of the room. On nights when my body is tired but my brain is still throwing the fifth inning again, Deep Sleep helps me shut it off.* What you do all day only counts if you sleep on it.

Start Day

Nothing new on game day. Ever. Same water, same electrolytes, same creatine, same breakfast, same Elite Focus. I front-load fluids early so I'm not chasing hydration in the fourth inning. The day after a start is all recovery: extra water, Recovery Aminos, CurQLife, easy movement, and an early night. Hitters adjust. Your body shouldn't have to.

My One Non-Negotiable
Elite Focus: My fastball got me noticed. My brain gets outs. By the time you reach this level, everybody throws hard and everybody works hard. What separates you is how clearly you think with the ball in your hand: five pitches, every count, every hitter, 60 feet from a guy trying to take you deep. I don't give that edge away. Not on a start day, not on a travel day, not ever.*

My Motto

My Motto

If it works, keep it. If it doesn't, try something else.

I am not going to tell you a supplement will make you a first-round pick. It won't. Nothing in a bottle replaces the reps, the coaching, the weight room, or loving the game so much you would play it if nobody was watching. What I can tell you is that doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is insane. When I was stuck, everybody around me was working just as hard as I was. I didn't need to work harder. I needed to do something different, and do it better, on the parts everybody else was ignoring.

To the Players

1. Own your development. Nobody cares about your career more than you do. Ask why. Know what you put in your body and what it is supposed to do.

2. Find people who actually know. I got better when I stopped guessing and started listening to coaches, trainers, and experts who had been there. Then I verified it for myself.

3. Be patient. My weight room moved in months. My velo on the field took longer. Most guys quit right before it shows up.

To the Parents

You are the first line of defense. Read the label. Ask where it is made. If a company can't explain it to you, it doesn't belong in your kid's body. If your athlete is under 18, bring his doctor into the conversation first. Food, water, and sleep come before anything in a bottle. The Collection is the one company I have found that teaches you all of that instead of hiding it.

Grind every day. Fuel the grind. Then go out there and have fun.
